When your child isn’t sleeping well, it can be all-consuming. I know because I have been there. Whilst it really may not feel like it at times, your little one does want to sleep. All children have both the need and the ability to sleep well - it’s just that some require more help than others to realise their sleep potential.
The good news is that helping your child achieve great sleep does not need to be an ordeal.
It’s often said that it takes a village to raise a child. Whether your village comprises family members, friends or other new parents you’ve met along your pregnancy or parenting journey, everyone will have a view regarding what you “should” be doing to help your child sleep. Many will have shared that opinion with you - maybe more than once. And let’s not even get started on what the internet has to offer!
All-too-often, two extremes are presented: leave your child to cry or resign yourself to the fact that they will, eventually, grow out of hourly waking, even if that takes several years. No children are the same and when it comes to sleep, the factors driving sleep challenges, and in turn the best solution, are as diverse as the children themselves. It is always possible to achieve biological best sleeping (which respects a child’s age and developmental stage) using gentle approaches where you work with, rather than against, your child - and where you support and respond to them, every single step along the way.
At Little Sleep Stars, we know a lot about sleep. But you are the expert in your child. We will achieve the best outcome for your family because I will listen to you, work with you and respect your priorities and parenting style.

It's no exaggeration to say that Lauren has completely changed our lives. We struggled for thirteen months with a very active and highly sensitive little boy that we just thought would never be a good sleeper. With silent reflux and neck tension, Max didn't have the easiest start when it came to sleeping, but a year later when he was still waking every 45 minutes through the night, being rocked back to sleep and then waking soon after, we were in a hole of sleep deprivation! Having tried apps and different sleep consultants at various points in Max's first year, we found Lauren and she listened with incredible attention to Max's issues and put together a very detailed plan for his sleep. It took us a couple of weeks to pluck up the courage to implement it but after the first two nights of doing so we have never looked back. With Lauren's help, Max now sleeps for 11-12 hours a night, is able to resettle himself during any night wakes, and naps solidly for two hours in the middle of the day. We have so much more freedom during the day and suddenly our tired little boy is a huge happy personality. And it's nice to get our bed back and have things to talk about other than sleep deprivation! I never thought it could happen but Lauren has successfully trained us as well as Max and we feel so confident in his sleeping ability. We couldn't be happier or more grateful.
We whole-heartedly recommend Lauren. I can only say I wish we had met her sooner. We really struggled with our then-11-month-old - she was awake more than she was asleep at night. We were reliant on every sleep crutch there was; because we were so exhausted we couldn't see the wood for the trees. We got in touch with Lauren and she did a thorough initial consultation with us before coming up with a few different plans of action - all gentle and child-focussed. She educated us about child sleep and gave us various tools and techniques to try with our daughter. She was with us every step of the way. She is knowledgeable, empathetic and quick to respond to questions; or should something not work (our daughter is spirited and persistent!), she is able to offer alternative solutions. It's clear she genuinely cares about the families she works with; she understands what it's like to be going out of your mind with sleep deprivation, and she wants to help everyone get the sleep they deserve.
Lauren has been absolutely brilliant; our 6 month old baby has gone from waking every 20-60 minutes to sleeping through. Lauren put together a very practical plan and taught us so much about sleep, giving us the confidence and knowledge to deal with tricky night settles and getting our baby into the right nap pattern. We can't thank her enough and we recommend her to everyone who mentions that they are having sleep issues with their little one.
I contacted Lauren as my 3 year old had never consistently slept through the night . It was the best decision I ever made . My husband and I were completely exhausted and it was really affecting our health and well being. He also had very early wake ups (usually between 5-5:30 but occasionally could be around 4:30am). The night before I rang Lauren, Leo had got up 4 times and had had a beaker of milk to re settle each time. He did not fall asleep by himself and always needed help to fall asleep and re settle . He would sometimes scream and refuse to get into bed . He did not let my husband put him to bed or re settle him at night and always screamed for me. Lauren was amazing. She was calm, supportive and completely realistic. She gave us hope and confidence that we could make changes at a time when we were so exhausted. It was always small, manageable changes. After about the first week, his night wake ups reduced to one and he was having no milk up re settle . By the end of the first month , he wasn?t waking up at all at night, was mostly settling himself to sleep at bed time, had no bedtime resistance at all and was happily letting my husband put him to bed every other night . The early wake ups took a few weeks more work (as he was determined!) but these also resolved themselves. I would strongly recommend Lauren to any parents struggling with their child?s sleep . She was a lifesaver to us!
By the time we contacted Lauren, we were desperate. Our 1 year old was waking every hour during the night and it was taking 1+ hours to get her back to sleep. As first time parents, we didn't know where to turn. Lack of sleep had started to affect mine and my husband's day time functioning, our moods, our relationship, and our exhausted little girl. I had even given up the idea of ever having another baby - the thought sleep battles without support was unfathomable. From the beginning, Lauren's consultations and intake form discussions were so thorough; taking the time to really understand our family's sleep goals and the specific needs of our child. She helped us to understand sleep in a way that no amount of googling in a year had. By the third night, our daughter was putting herself to sleep without tears and was "sleeping through" the night. Our entire family dynamic changed and throughout the process, it's only gotten better! Lauren has given us the tools we needed, reassurance we desired, and an "if, then" plan to get our daughter to sleep without ever leaving her to "cry it out". Lauren has been there for us through slight adjustments to our sleep routine, as well as guiding us through the process of maintaining a sleep routine while traveling. We will continue to happily share Lauren's process and contact information with all of our parent friends!
